CYBERTECH
Cybertech is by and large my favorite Profession in the game at the moment. I love space combat, and free gear for all of my companions.
Here are the pointers for leveling Cybertech
First of all, Make sure you read the Crew Skills page. At the bottom it discusses some Key factors. (Reverse Engineering, Gathering Mats)
And the Missions page, as it discusses the other methods of gathering resources.
Cybertech Should be paired with Scavenging, and Underworld Trading.
In the early levels you will be using Desh, Laminoid, Aluminium, and Silica. These are gained from scavenging.
Notice tho, that Desh, and Aluminium are metals, while silica and Laminoid are compounds.
Reverse Engineering These early Items (Mods for gear) may teach you Blue recipes of the same type. REing the Blues may teach you the Purple versions! The higher the tier, the rarer the materials needed to craft it, But it will also be more powerful! A Purple Mod has the same Stats as a piece several levels higher than you may have. Which means that you are powerful!
As you progress thru, watch for more than just the items you can use yourself. Remember, your companions need gear too. CT has a HUGE opportunity for those running with a Droid companion. You can make your own EPIC Droid parts, as well as keeping your humanoid companions well geared.
You will also begin learning BOP Mounts, and BOE Starship upgrades (these begin to be usable around 20).
Make as many epics as you can, and SELL THEM on the market. You will help raise your mission skill with this money, easily. You should be able to find these Schematics on the Market, or with Slicing, Blue Boxes, or in combination with a Companion gift Mission reward.
Now New training becomes available every 20 levels of this skill, but you don't necessarily need to train in everything. Most items will continue to level this skill well past these thresholds. Watch what your companions bring back from their gathering missions, and when they start bringing back odd things (materials of a higher level than you are using now), try to train up!
